In a time of intensifying climate pressures, the impacts of climate change may influence where people move. People are relocating from highly impacted areas, like those facing drought or coastal flooding, to areas they view as safer. These people, called climate migrants, are reshaping migration flows in the U.S. and abroad.

Cincinnati, with our relative affordability, low risk of natural disaster, and abundance of water, may be a destination for climate migrants. While it’s unclear if climate migrants will arrive and what their impact could be, Cincinnati needs to prepare now for any outcome.
